National 4-H Council
The first H, “head,” represents clear thinking and managing. The second H, “heart,” represents caring, understanding and loyalty. The third H, “hands,” represents giving, working and service. And the fourth H, “health,” represents a standard of better living and good health. 4-H is a community of more than 6.5 million young people across America whose collective goal is to build a world in which youth and adults can learn, grow and work together as catalysts for positive change. In addition, 4-H members participate in fun, hands-on learning activities that are typically designed to teach youngsters about life, citizenship and community, science, engineering or technology. This means that local 4-H club projects could range from web design one day to gardening the next. A great organization with a long history, 4-H clubs welcome kids from all walks of life in every county and in every state. So you can imagine, 4-H can always use more volunteers to help manage local chapters. Interested in helping? Visit www.fourhcouncil.edu and find out more about 4-H and what you can do to help. And remember, don’t almost give. Give.
