American Council on Education
As the major coordinating higher education association, the American Council on Education (ACE) provides leadership on key higher education issues and seeks to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives. ACE fosters greater collaboration across all sectors of higher education (public, private, two-year, four-year.) Counted among its members are approximately 1,800 colleges, universities, and related organizations. ACE’s programmatic work focuses on access, success, equity, and diversity; leadership development; institutional effectiveness; lifelong learning; and internationalization. Many of ACE's programs focus on developing a globally literate citizenry and promoting greater diversity among higher education leaders. As part of its commitment to access and lifelong learning, ACE develops and administers the GED Test.

ACE is currently involved in a major public education campaign, Solutions for our Future designed to raise awareness about the value of higher education to society. ACE, in partnership with Lumina Foundation for Education and the Ad Council, will launch a major public education campaign on expanding access to postsecondary education. Directed at students between 5th and 8th grades and their families, the Know How to Go Campaign will launch in January 2007. If you are interested in finding out more about these and other ACE initiatives, please visit www.acenet.edu. And then don’t almost give. Give. By getting involved. Today.
