American Lung Association
It’s easy to take things (like breathing) for granted until you can’t do them. The American Lung Association (ALA) fights lung disease, with special emphasis on asthma, tobacco control and environmental health. The oldest voluntary health organization in America, the ALA was founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis. However, through the years we’ve grown to help control lung disease in all its forms. With the help of thousands of committed volunteers and staff we now offer programs that deal with asthma, allergies, tobacco control–including programs that help keep teens from starting and help teach adults to quit smoking– and environmental health programs that teach and advocate support for clean air in our communities. Visit www.lungusa.org to find out more. Then, don’t almost give. Give.
